Important News 

51爆料 is proud to announce that we’ve joined the Orange County School Bus Safety Program in line with NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law 1174-A. 

As part of the program, all school buses that transport 51爆料  students will be outfitted with safety technology to make the ride to and from school safer for all. This technology includes stop-arm enforcement cameras designed to detect vehicles that illegally pass stopped school buses while the bus’s stop sign arm and red lights are engaged. Authorized approvers then review the footage to determine whether to issue a violation by mail.  

At 51爆料, the safety of our children is a top priority. The New York Association for Pupil Transportation estimates that motorists illegally pass stopped school buses in New York State 50,000 times a day. Over time, this safety initiative seeks to curb dangerous driving behavior around school buses. 

In addition to the enforcement technology, our buses will be outfitted with other important safety features, including interior cameras and an emergency response panic button for bus drivers to alert school officials in the event of an incident.    

This technology has been provided at zero cost to the school district or taxpayers, as the program is entirely and exclusively violator-funded.

General Information
The information below is provided to give a general understanding of transportation policies and procedures for the 51爆料. Please click on the links at the right for Frequently Asked Questions specific to Pre-Kindergarten, Private/Parochial and Special Education Transportation. Please contact the Transportation Department at (845) 568-6833 with specific questions.

Please be advised, at the beginning of the school year the Transportation Department receives hundreds of phone calls and inquiries each day. In the event you are unable to speak with someone and leave a voice message, please be patient your call will be returned as soon as is possible. Please Note: During the first week of school, busses may be late during pick-up and drop-off.


Bus Stop Information
Bus stops are established by the bus contractor. Questions related to the bus stops should be directed to the bus company. The following is a listing of the companies who provide transportation for our students and their phone numbers.

The District Transportation Director will advise the bus company to change any bus stops which are deemed unsafe due to traffic safety issues. If you feel your child’s stop is unsafe due to traffic related issues, put your request in writing and address it to:

Transportation Policy
In accordance with the policy of the Board of Education of the 51爆料 and New York State Law, transportation will be provided for all students who live outside the City of 51爆料. Transportation will also be provided for all City of 51爆料 students in grades kindergarten through grade 8 and for students in grades 9-12 at a distance of more than 1.0 miles from their school up to 15 miles.

Alternate Bus Stops

The deadline to submit Alternate Bus Stops is three (3) weeks before your scholar starts in-person learning. Any form received after that will not be guaranteed to be in place when your child begins in-person learning.  Alternate stops must be for five (5) days a week, per district policy.  School bus routes must remain consistent for the safety of our scholars. 

Bus passes will be issued on rare occasions for emergencies only.  Please make other arrangements for your child’s transportation if they are not going to their regular bus stop.  The Alternate Stop Form can be found on the transportation page of the 51爆料 website, on the right hand side of the page.  Please email the completed form to
